1776 Gabriel Prosser is born

Rather Fight and died than be a Slave

Gabriel Prosser was born into slavery at Brookfield, a large tobacco plantation in Henrico County, Virginia.[1] He and two brothers, Solomon and Martin, were held in bondage by slaveholder Thomas Prosser, the owner of Brookfield.
